About the role
First Orion is seeking a highly skilled Cloud & DevOps Engineer to support our fast-growing, Branded Calling platform. The role is ideal for an engineer who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and enjoys building, automating, and maintaining cloud-native infrastructure at scale.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain automated infrastructure as code using Terraform and AWS
- Create and maintain CI/CD pipelines using tools such as CodePipeline, CodeBuild, and CodeDeploy
- Execute software releases and deployments across environments
- Maintain development and testing infrastructure, including installation of systems, patches, backups, upgrades, and security
- Work with developers and participate in the development lifecycle to ensure smooth delivery and operational readiness
- Implement monitoring, observability, and operational guides for production support
- Continuously iterate and improve systems, tooling, and automation
- Participate in an on-call rotation for system support
- Architect, configure, maintain, and monitor cloud infrastructure, including containerized workloads (Docker, ECS)
- Configure infrastructure to comply with security standards such as PCI-DSS, ISO 27001/27002
- Collaborate with internal teams to identify, recommend, and implement cost-effective technology solutions that support the Branded Calling platform
- Use AI-assisted engineering tools to improve delivery speed and quality (while maintaining secure coding and data-handling practices)
Requirements
- 5–7+ years supporting production infrastructure in cloud or data center environments
- Experience with at least one virtual hosting environment (AWS strongly preferred)
- Hands-on experience with containerization technologies: Docker, ECS
- Strong scripting skills in Python and Bash
- Experience with IaC tools such as Terraform and automation tools like Atlantis
- Experience administering Linux systems
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools (CodePipeline, CodeBuild, CodeDeploy)
- Strong foundation in networking, Linux, storage, and databases
- Experience configuring infrastructure to meet security and compliance standards
- Experience with Git version control
- Excellent troubleshooting skills and ability to diagnose complex cloud issues
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to work in Agile, multi-disciplinary teams
- Able to manage software releases and deployments

- Knowledge of big data platforms (Databricks, Spark)
- SQL knowledge
- Experience with Grafana or other observability tools
- Experience with ServiceNow
