Blackstone Talent Group, an award-winning technology consulting and talent agency, is seeking a Cloud Computing Systems Engineer to join our client's team. This role is responsible for advanced technical and operational support of cloud infrastructure resources in Microsoft Azure, providing mentorship and guidance to partnering teams and developers.

Responsibilities

  • Develop strategy to execute Azure Cloud Engineering.
  • Develop and implement standards and best practices for cloud solutions.
  • Lead efforts to provision infrastructure using infrastructure as code tooling (Terraform, ARM, etc.).
  • Leverage automation to monitor and orchestrate client environments.
  • Implement Cloud standards, DevOps/CICD toolchain, and Standard Operating Environment (SOE).
  • Support business requirements by conducting business needs assessments and analysis.
  • Keep up with patches and updates to enable new functionality and address vulnerabilities.
  • Conduct research on emerging technologies to increase cost effectiveness and infrastructure flexibility.
  • Work with Kubernetes, Docker, and other container technologies.
  • Deploy Azure PaaS services (APIM, AKS, AppService, FrontDoor, etc.).
  • Provide technical direction for Cloud platforms and installed systems to meet business needs and regulatory compliance.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of professional experience with a Bachelor’s degree.
  • 5+ years of experience as an Azure cloud engineer supporting higher-level PaaS services, networking, and related technology.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Azure cloud engineering expertise in IaC and PaaS services (AKS, AppService, etc.); Terraform experience is required.
  • Interview process includes a coding review and code sample creation.
  • Focused experience and knowledge of Kubernetes and Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS); daily Kubernetes work expected.
  • Azure certification is highly desired.
  • AKS certification (CKAD) and HCI (Azure Stack) experience preferred.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and interpersonal skills.
  • Solid understanding of the Azure public cloud platform.
  • Knowledge of the software development life cycle.
  • Familiarity with programming languages and web-based technologies.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Broad knowledge of cloud computing concepts and solutions.
  • Experience with infrastructure management in a cloud environment.
  • Knowledge of cloud delivery models, Web services, API Gateway, Elastic/Network Load Balancers, ACA, policy framework, cache services, and security frameworks.
  • Proficiency in modern software architecture using CI/CD, DevOps, scalability, and API-first strategy.
