Cloud Computing Specialist (CCS) – Subject Matter Expert (SME)

B&A is seeking a Cloud Computing Specialist (CCS) – Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) Information Operations Enterprise Enclave and Information Operations Secure Enterprise Enclave Engineering (IOEE/IOSEE) Support Services in Fort Belvoir, Virginia. Anticipated award: October/November 2026. Anticipated start: November 2026. Period of performance: 1 Base Year + 2 Option Years. This position is contingent upon contract award.
About the role
Serves as an Information Assurance and Cloud computing Subject Matter Expert (SME) with regards to Certification and Accreditation (C&A) and a broad coverage of the application of the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Risk Management Framework (RMF) standards and guidance as outlined in the NIST Special Publication(s) (SP) 800-53 and 800-37 (current versions). The specialist must possess the ability to work independently with substantial cloud computing security knowledge and have the essential skillsets to identify, manage, and resolve cloud computing security risk while implementing “best practices” as applied within a cloud environment (across all deployment and service models, and derivatives).
The CCS must be well-versed in FedRAMP assessment methodology of security and privacy controls deployed in cloud information systems, including six domain areas:
- Architectural Concepts & Design Requirements
- Cloud Data Security
- Cloud Platform & Infrastructure Security
- Cloud Application Security
- Operations
- Legal & Compliance
Responsibilities
- Serve as an Information Assurance and Cloud computing SME for Certification and Accreditation (C&A).
- Apply NIST Risk Management Framework (RMF) standards and guidance (NIST SP 800-53 and 800-37).
- Work independently with substantial cloud computing security knowledge.
- Identify, manage, and resolve cloud computing security risks.
- Implement best practices within cloud environments across all deployment and service models.
- Conduct FedRAMP assessments of security and privacy controls in cloud information systems.
- Assess IA controls and conduct C&A reviews for large, complex information systems.
Requirements
- Five (5) years of Certification and Accreditation (C&A) experience.
- Experience with the Risk Management Framework (RMF) and NIST Certification & Accreditation (C&A).
- Experience with DoD Information Assurance (IA).
- Experience assessing IA controls and conducting C&A reviews for large, complex information systems.
Qualifications
- Current DoD 8570/8140 approved IAM Level III certification.
- Current Cloud Computing Security certification.
- Active Secret security clearance, adjudicated within the last five (5) years.

Pay
Salary range: $125,000 – $195,000 annually. Actual compensation will be based on experience, qualifications, certifications, security clearance, and contract funding.
