Cloud Computing Architect

Department: ETS - Engineering

Responsibilities

• Architect, design, and maintain Azure and AWS cloud infrastructure services, ensuring system integrity, scalability, and performance
• Lead cloud platform installation, configuration, and ongoing maintenance for enterprise environments
• Partner with DPS IT personnel, vendors, consultants, and internal customers to implement new solutions and enhance existing capabilities
• Drive cloud modernization initiatives, including system upgrades, migrations, and optimization efforts
• Ensure security, compliance, and governance across cloud environments
• Monitor and maintain cloud performance, availability, and reliability
• Research and evaluate industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices, incorporating innovations into enterprise cloud strategy
• Provide strategic input to align cloud architecture with organizational vision and business priorities
• Develop and maintain technical documentation, standards, and architecture frameworks
• Support continuous improvement and innovation within cloud services delivery
• Design, installation, deployment, performance evaluation and tuning, technology research/evaluation, capacity planning and mitigation for cloud infrastructure services
• Understand the technical design and operation of the enterprise cloud infrastructure services along with coordinating third-party vendors for maintenance to existing environments and planning for additional capacity and upgrades
• Architect and design new additions to cloud infrastructure services providing technical expertise in identifying, evaluating, and developing effective systems solutions that meet business application requirements

Requirements

• Minimum of 8 years in an Information Technology setting with a minimum of five years directly supporting AWS/Azure/Cloud Infrastructure
• Education: High School or GED (required); 4 Year / Bachelor’s Degree (preferred)
• Microsoft Azure and Amazon AWS Certifications (preferred)
