This position entails designing, developing, and maintaining cloud automation workflows within VMware Aria Automation and VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) Automation. The role requires a seasoned Cloud Automation Engineer responsible for integrating orchestration solutions, ensuring security compliance, and supporting automated provisioning for critical government systems. Hybrid work schedule balancing on-site and remote work at a facility located in Kearneysville, WV.

Responsibilities

  • Design, deploy, and manage self-service catalogs and cloud provisioning blueprints using VMware Aria Automation and VCF Automation.
  • Develop and customize complex automation workflows within VMware Aria Automation Orchestrator and VCF Operations Orchestrator to streamline operational tasks.
  • Analyze, map, and document end-to-end workflows across multiple technology domains including compute, network, storage, and security.
  • Integrate automation solutions with external enterprise services such as Infoblox DDI, Tenable Security Center, and ServiceNow via JavaScript and REST APIs.
  • Maintain VMware vSphere and VCF infrastructure, supporting automated VM provisioning, resource allocation, and lifecycle management.
  • Ensure all automated deployments and self-service components adhere to federal security standards, government baselines, and DISA STIGs, including vulnerability remediation.
  • Monitor automation platform performance, troubleshoot workflow or provisioning failures, and conduct root cause analysis.
  • Create and maintain documentation for system configurations, blueprints, processes, and standard operating procedures.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize automation workflows and enhance system security and compliance.
  • Stay current with industry best practices and emerging technologies in cloud automation, virtualization, and security.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent with at least 9 years of relevant experience or comparable professional background.
  • DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification such as Security+ CE, CySA+, or CCNA Security.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience developing automation solutions using JavaScript and REST APIs, specifically with Infoblox DDI and Tenable Security Center.
  • Proven experience designing, deploying, and managing automation workflows with VMware Aria Automation and VCF tools.
  • Proficiency in building, customizing, and troubleshooting orchestration workflows in VMware Aria Automation Orchestrator and VCF Operations Orchestrator.
  • Strong understanding of VMware vSphere, VCF environments, VM lifecycle, resource management, and cluster behavior.
  • Experience in integrating automation workflows with ServiceNow via APIs for ITSM processes, approval workflows, and ticketing.
  • In-depth knowledge of enterprise virtualization, IP networking, core infrastructure services, and storage solutions.
  • Eligibility for a U.S. Government security clearance; U.S. citizenship is required.

Pay

$50.00 – $55.00 hourly

Schedule

Hybrid schedule, with time split between the office and remote work.
