Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Cloud GCP Architect Contractor to support the design, implementation, and governance of secure, scalable, and policy-compliant cloud solutions on Google Cloud Platform.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement GCP cloud architecture with a focus on identity, networking, and organization-level policy controls.
- Define and manage IAM strategy, including roles, permissions, service accounts, and least-privilege access models.
- Architect secure and scalable network solutions including VPCs, subnets, firewall rules, load balancers, DNS, and hybrid connectivity.
- Establish and enforce cloud governance using GCP policies, standards, and security best practices.
- Develop and support landing zone architecture for multi-project and multi-environment GCP setups.
- Partner with security, infrastructure, and application teams to ensure compliant and secure cloud deployments.
- Enable CI/CD integration for infrastructure and application deployment with appropriate policy and security checks.
- Drive Infrastructure as Code adoption for automated, repeatable, and auditable provisioning of GCP resources.
- Support SRE practices by improving observability, reliability, incident response, and operational resilience.
- Review cloud environments for IAM, network, and policy gaps and recommend remediation actions.
- Troubleshoot complex cloud issues related to identity, connectivity, deployment automation, and platform stability.
- Create and maintain architecture documents, standards, and reference patterns.
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in cloud architecture, infrastructure engineering, or related technical roles.
- Strong hands-on expertise in GCP identity, networking, and policy architecture.
- Expert-level knowledge of GCP services, IAM, and cloud governance principles.
- Strong programming/scripting skills in Python.
- Proven experience with enterprise cloud architecture, landing zones, and policy-driven environments.
- Practical experience with CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure as Code, and operational reliability practices.
- Strong troubleshooting and stakeholder collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Terraform for Infrastructure as Code.
- Familiarity with SRE practices, observability tooling, and incident management.
- Experience supporting regulated or enterprise-scale cloud environments.
- Knowledge of hybrid cloud connectivity and secure network design patterns.
The expected pay range for this contract assignment is $70 - $75 per hour.
Expected Work Schedule
Approximate hours per week: About 40.
