About the role

This position is located in USA VA Arlington, however, a hybrid working model is acceptable. CGI Federal is seeking a Cloud Architect (Container/OpenShift) to advance the national security mission through cutting-edge technology.

Responsibilities

  • Architecting OpenShift clusters for on-premise, cloud, and hybrid environments.

  • Leading the installation, configuration, and tuning of OpenShift clusters, including namespaces, networking, storage, and security policies.

  • Developing strategies and standards for containerizing applications and platforms, aligning with business needs.

  • Defining and implementing automated deployment pipelines using CI/CD tools like Jenkins, GitLab, or similar.

  • Integrating OpenShift with enterprise systems, such as monitoring tools, identity providers, and existing CI/CD pipelines.

  • Ensuring the OpenShift environment meets security and compliance requirements, including configuring role-based access controls (RBAC).

  • Collaborating with development, QA, and product management teams to ensure successful deployment and adoption of containerized applications.

  • Providing technical leadership, acting as a trusted advisor, and transferring knowledge to client and internal teams.

  • Assessing legacy systems, performing gap analysis, and developing strategies for migrating applications to the OpenShift platform.

Requirements

  • Journeyman: Bachelor’s degree and/or 1 to 3 years of experience.

  • Junior: Bachelor’s degree and/or 3 to 5 years of experience.

  • Senior: Bachelor’s degree and/or 5 to 8+ years of experience.

Qualifications

  • Strong hands-on experience with Red Hat OpenShift architecture and operations.

  • Deep understanding of containerization technologies and Kubernetes.

  • Experience with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, GitLab, and related development and deployment tools.

  • Knowledge of cloud-native architecture principles and best practices.

  • Experience with container networking, storage solutions, and software-defined networks.

  • Familiarity with configuring security features and implementing logging and monitoring systems.

  • Excellent communication, presentation, and documentation skills.

Pay

A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $100,000.00 - $200000.00.
