Cloud Architect (Container/OpenShift)
About the role
This position is located in USA VA Arlington, however, a hybrid working model is acceptable. CGI Federal is seeking a Cloud Architect (Container/OpenShift) to advance the national security mission through cutting-edge technology.
Responsibilities
Architecting OpenShift clusters for on-premise, cloud, and hybrid environments.
Leading the installation, configuration, and tuning of OpenShift clusters, including namespaces, networking, storage, and security policies.
Developing strategies and standards for containerizing applications and platforms, aligning with business needs.
Defining and implementing automated deployment pipelines using CI/CD tools like Jenkins, GitLab, or similar.
Integrating OpenShift with enterprise systems, such as monitoring tools, identity providers, and existing CI/CD pipelines.
Ensuring the OpenShift environment meets security and compliance requirements, including configuring role-based access controls (RBAC).
Collaborating with development, QA, and product management teams to ensure successful deployment and adoption of containerized applications.
Providing technical leadership, acting as a trusted advisor, and transferring knowledge to client and internal teams.
Assessing legacy systems, performing gap analysis, and developing strategies for migrating applications to the OpenShift platform.
Requirements
Journeyman: Bachelor’s degree and/or 1 to 3 years of experience.
Junior: Bachelor’s degree and/or 3 to 5 years of experience.
Senior: Bachelor’s degree and/or 5 to 8+ years of experience.
Qualifications
Strong hands-on experience with Red Hat OpenShift architecture and operations.
Deep understanding of containerization technologies and Kubernetes.
Experience with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, GitLab, and related development and deployment tools.
Knowledge of cloud-native architecture principles and best practices.
Experience with container networking, storage solutions, and software-defined networks.
Familiarity with configuring security features and implementing logging and monitoring systems.
Excellent communication, presentation, and documentation skills.

Pay
A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $100,000.00 - $200000.00.
