Cloud Application Architect (Node.js and React.js) - Remote
About the role
GDIT's Cloud Application Architects transform technology into opportunity by shaping the design and foundation of mission-critical government projects, ensuring the safety and well-being of vital systems while simultaneously growing and developing their skills for the future. The Cloud Application Architect will architect the modernization of enterprise-class software applications.
Responsibilities
- Designs, architects, deploys, and maintains cloud solutions
- Maintains the integrity and security of systems
- Sustains and enhances knowledge of AWS cloud services (microservices)
- Collaborates with teams of UI/UX designers, cloud engineers, architects, and DevOps teams deploying and operating workloads using AWS services (such as, but not limited to: Lambda, EC2, S3, CloudWatch, API Gateway, VPC, IAM)
- Composes and maintains standard operating procedures and work instructions, knowledge articles, et al.
Requirements
The Cloud Application Architect must have:
- Education: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Programming, Computer Engineering or relevant experience
- Experience: 10+ years of related experience with AWS cloud computing
- Skills: Development experience in the following languages: JavaScript/TypeScript, Bash, Python, Node.js, and React.js; Expertise in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) utilizing one of the following: Terraform and/or CloudFormation; Understanding of RESTful APIs and event-driven architecture; Designed and implemented Lambda services / microservices in a multi-tenant environment; Designed and implemented CI/CD tools (such as, but not limited to, GitLab); Extensive SDLC experience; Excellent communication skills with demonstrated experience delivering presentations to diverse audiences at various levels of an organization; Prior experience as a Team Lead and/or Manager
Qualifications
Required Certification: Must possess AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate
Skills
- Development experience in the following languages: JavaScript/TypeScript, Bash, Python, Node.js, and React.js
