About the role
Design, develop, and maintain Java-based, cloud-native applications on Google Cloud Platform. Build secure, scalable services for image capture, processing, storage, and distribution. Implement AI-enabled capabilities for image-driven use cases like classification, OCR, and data extraction. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including DevOps, QA, Product Management, and security stakeholders. Ensure applications meet security standards, compliance requirements, and performance expectations. Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code in partnership with DevOps.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain Java-based, cloud-native applications on Google Cloud Platform
- Build secure, scalable services for image capture, processing, storage, and distribution
- Implement AI-enabled capabilities for image-driven use cases (e.g., classification, OCR, data extraction)
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including DevOps, QA, Product Management, and security stakeholders
- Ensure applications meet security standards, compliance requirements, and performance expectations
- Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code in partnership with DevOps
Requirements
- Strong professional experience developing backend services and APIs in Java (e.g., Spring/Spring Boot)
- Hands-on experience designing, deploying, and operating applications on Google Cloud Platform
- Experience designing and implementing RESTful APIs with authentication/authorization patterns
- Familiarity with image-centric workflows (capture, ingestion, object storage, transformation, metadata management)
- Experience integrating AI capabilities into applications (e.g., computer vision, OCR, data extraction)
- Knowledge of secure engineering practices, including IAM, least privilege, and secrets management
