Cloth Doffer

Duties/Responsibilities

• Inspect lift truck and complete daily lift truck inspection form at the beginning of each shift
• Able to doff (push) the backing off the loom and start a new roll
• Must be able to identify proper production ticket
• Must be able to drive any kind of lift trucks (on-site training provided)
• Move full and empty beams with the hubtex (cloth truck)
• Keep the supervisor informed of all problems and issues of concern
• Examine each roll/pallet/rack/cage carefully to ensure it is in good condition
• Responsible for setting/transporting the material in the correct locations
• Responsible for prioritizing loom doffing
• Place the rolls in the cloth trucks and/or pallets, and maintain the roll records
• Responsible for working with Shipping when required
• Responsible for housekeeping such as emptying trash cans, putting paper waste in trash cans, emptying loom waste cans in correct bins, etc.
• Maintain good working condition of the equipment
• Report any incidents immediately
• Work safely with complete adherence to all safety procedures

• Must be able to work assigned shift and overtime as necessary

Physical Requirements

• Moving, bending, and pushing
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds with assistance
• Adhere to safety requirements including the use of required personal protective equipment (PPE)
• Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time

Working Conditions

• Manufacturing setting
• Moderate to high noise levels at times (PPE and testing provided)
• May require the use of sharp tools to cut materials
