About the role
The Medical Assistant role at Marshall Medical Centers may involve providing nursing care to patients under the direction of a physician, performing various medical tasks, and serving as an office receptionist.
Responsibilities
- Receiving patients and performing vital signs
- Collecting specimens and giving injections
- Documenting patient charts as necessary
- Communicating clinical information to patients and other parties
- Maintaining clinical logs as per MMC guidelines
- Assisting other staff members as needed
- Answering phones, making appointments, assembling charts, collecting co-pays, and balancing payments
- Taking and forwarding messages for clinical staff
- Entering appropriate patient demographic information
Requirements
- High School Graduate or Equivalent
- Certified Medical Assistant Diploma from an accredited institution (preferred)
- Prior experience in another physician office practice (preferred)
Qualifications
Licensed to practice in the state of Alabama.
