Clinician Scientist/Director of Sleep Medicine Research (OPEN RANK - Assistant Professor – Professor)

Key Responsibilities

The Director of Sleep Medicine Research will work collaboratively with University of Colorado faculty and Sleep Center staff to administer grant-funded research projects, and to develop and manage a research center infrastructure.

Serve as a mentor to faculty, trainees, and early career investigators in their pursuit of research activities, funding, and scholarly output.

Support and identify professional development activities for investigators and staff.

Help recruit faculty and trainees to further the academic mission of the sleep program.

Collaborate with leadership in the Sleep Medicine Fellowship Program to strengthen the academic profile of the fellowship and to support investigational activities of incoming sleep fellows.

Curriculum development, evaluation of trainee performance, scholarly mentorship, and recruitment of future fellows.

Clinical activities, including direct patient care, sleep study interpretation, and routine use of electronic medical records for patient charting and office communication.

Qualifications

• MD/PhD or equivalent graduate level training in sleep-related health research
• Board certification in sleep medicine
• 2-4 years clinical experience in sleep medicine for Assistant Professor
• 5+ years clinical experience in sleep medicine for Associate Professor
• 7+ years clinical experience in sleep medicine for Professor
