Clinician Nurse - Neuroscience - F/T Days

Overview

The Nurse Clinician is a professional practitioner with expertise in a clinical specialty. The job requires the ability to prioritize and triage situations, collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare providers, and design and implement education programs.

Responsibilities

• Implements components of direct and indirect care to patients requiring advanced clinical expertise and complex problem-solving abilities.
• Guides nursing staff in developing care plans for patients with complex needs or complex interventions.
• Provides expert nursing consultation and practice oversight in specified areas.
• Collaborates with patients, families, and healthcare providers to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
• Participates in multi-professional teams to contribute to role development and advance nursing practice and health services.
• Mentors other registered nurses and colleagues as appropriate.
• Works to influence decision-making bodies to improve patient care.
• Collaborates with physicians to identify clinical priorities and develop educational programs for patients with unique and complex needs.
• Serves as a resource and mentor to enhance the education and clinical experience of nurses.
• Attends appropriate patient care conferences.
• Evaluates patient care through utilization of quality assurance programs.
• Identifies patient care and nursing staff needs that could benefit from research studies or performance improvement activities.
• Analyzes, utilizes, and disseminates research findings in clinical practice.
• Maintains an appropriate database.
• Coordinates, implements, and evaluates education programs and initiatives as assigned.
• Other duties and/or projects as assigned.
• Adheres to HMH Organizational competencies and standards of behavior.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.
• Minimum 5 years clinical experience in medical/surgical nursing or related field.
• Knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office applications and hospital equipment.
• MS in Nursing (Preferred).
• National certification in specific specialty (CNE) (Preferred).
• Experience with electronic medical records (Preferred).
• NJ State Professional Registered Nurse License.
• AHA Basic Health Care Life Support HCP Certification.

Compensation

Minimum rate of $107,952.00 Annually.
