About the role
Planned Parenthood of Greater Ohio is seeking a mission-minded Clinician to join our team at the Old Brooklyn Center. This position is full-time (37.5 hours per week) and may occasionally float within the assigned region. When floating, there will be a float differential.
Responsibilities
- Implementing overall quality assurance activities
- Absessing, planning, and administering health care individualized to the client
- Reviewing and interpreting the medical and social history
- Performing appropriate medical screening procedures/exams
- Interpreting laboratory data, ordering additional investigations when necessary, and ensuring appropriate follow-up
- Providing contraceptive methods: oral and topical contraceptives, contraceptive injections, and begins training and/or completing privileging for device insertion and removal (implants, IUCs), and EMB
- Providing emergency contraception
- Performing medical assessment and management of basic STI and genito-urinary conditions
- Providing perimenopausal and menopausal services
- Counseling pregnant women on all pregnancy outcome options
- Providing pre and post-abortion care
- Acting as a medical consultant to clinic staff
- Managing emergency situations in the center
- Complying with OSHA, CLIA, and State Board of Pharmacy procedures, policies, and regulations
- Participating in staff meetings related to center management and providing staff training in current medical procedures relevant to reproductive health
- Maintaining CPR per PPFA standards
- Participating in the revenue cycle through knowledge of charge capture, pricing, health information management, clinical documentation, coding, and 3rd party reimbursement
Requirements
- Education commensurate with Ohio statute licensure requirements for practice capacity (Nurse Practitioner)
- Current OHIO nursing license, certificate of authority, and certificate to prescribe or be eligible for certificate to prescribe externship
- Recent graduate up to 1 year experience
- Willingness and ability to learn new skills appropriate to PPGOH clinical duties
- Able to work cooperatively as a member of a health care delivery team
- Able to see 3-5 patients per hour within 6 months of hire and correctly code visits as required by CMS coding guidelines
Qualifications
- Ohio statute licensure requirements for practice capacity (Nurse Practitioner)
- Current Ohio nursing license
- CPR/ BLS Certification required
Skills
- Bilingual in Spanish, Nepali, or Somali (strongly preferred)
