Job Duties
- Maintains and manages an assigned caseload.
- Provides crisis intervention and counseling services.
- Maintains and develops administrative and clinical files.
- Prepares various reports and case related correspondence.
- Provides consultation, education, and prevention services.
- Performs intakes, client assessments, and diagnostic interviews.
- Develops and facilitates psycho-educational groups.
- Provides individual, family, and group counseling.
- Coordinates daily treatment schedules.
- Manages and documents contacts.
- Enters and updates information in databases.
- Serves as a member of local multi-disciplinary teams.
- Attends professional conferences and trainings.
- Provides child minding assistance.
- Provides transportation assistance.
- Attends court as needed.
- Supervises student interns.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- General knowledge of principles and practices of providing care to emotionally disturbed, socially dysfunctional, behaviorally disordered, mentally ill, and substance use disorder clients.
- General knowledge of community resources and human services network.
- General knowledge of community-based behavioral health principles and psychotherapeutic treatment techniques.
- General knowledge of counseling and crisis intervention theories and techniques.
- Thorough knowledge of intake techniques and procedures.
- Ability to evaluate and screen clients.
- Ability to prepare adequate records and report findings and data effectively.
- Ability to solve problems within scope of responsibility.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with clients, supervisors, consultants, community partners, law enforcement, associates, and the general public.
