Work Schedule

• 32 hrs/week, Monday - Thursday 12:00pm-8:30pm

Requirements

• Registered with the BBS as an ACSW, APCC or AMFT
• This role is a hybrid with some office hours and virtual telehealth hours required
• Familiarity with Intensive Outpatient Program work and group work experience is a plus

Pay

• Hourly Rate: Associate $42.07, Licensed $54.30
• Bilingual Pay: $135 per paycheck for threshold languages
• Union staff promotion from Step 1 to Step 2 after one year

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

• Provide clinical leadership in comprehensive assessments, case conferences, treatment plans, and strategic interventions
• Serve as a lead member of the treatment team and provide clinical supervision and direct services
• Provide orientation, consultation, and coordination within the work team
• Lead the team and program for a particular shift
• Train and guide staff, interns, and volunteers
• Support other staff in responding to client crises
• Develop, review, evaluate, and sign documentation
• Collaborate with Benefits Specialists and Intake Specialists to obtain authorization for treatment
• Provide treatment services, training, and support to clients
• Interview clients and gather pertinent demographic and psychosocial information
• Complete strengths assessments and needs analyses with clients and families
• Develop goal-oriented, time-limited, comprehensive plans in cooperation with clients and/or clients' representatives
• Facilitate and/or lead groups through rehabilitation counseling processes
• Assist clients with understanding their problems and developing plans to resolve them
• Maintain regular communication with families and authorized third parties involved in the rehabilitation process
• Coordinate needed services for clients, their families, and others who are significant to the service plans
• Make referrals to other public and private social services and community agencies and resources
• Complete comprehensive reassessments prior to expiration of current treatment plans
• Maintain timely, accurate, and complete clinical records and other required documentation
• Prepare clear, accurate reports in accordance with agency, payor, and regulatory requirements
• Respond to client crises and provide necessary follow-up
• Attend and participate in staff, program, agency, and community meetings and training
• Meet continuing education requirements to satisfy regulatory, accreditation, and Agency requirements
• Provide transportation in personal or agency vehicle, including transporting clients and/or program supplies
• Perform First Aid in emergency situations, if assigned to residential facilities

Knowledge, Skill, and Abilities Required

• Master's degree in the mental health profession and one year’s experience working in human services settings
• Eligibility for waiver and apply for registration and waiver upon hire or as soon as regulations allow and obtain waiver within six months of hire date
• First Aid Certification or successful completion of First Aid Certification within 30 days of hire, if assigned to residential facilities
• Continuing education requirements to satisfy regulatory, accreditation, and Agency requirements
• Proven typing speed of 30 net wpm, 40 net wpm (desired), computer literacy, ability to use MS Office applications, and familiarity with UNIX-based databases
• Work independently and in a small team environment
• Organize and manage a caseload
• Engage and communicate effectively with others in both verbal and written English
• Conceptualize and prioritize the problems of mentally disordered individuals, determine their needs, services, and appropriate treatment methods
• Monitor and support developmental growth and the recovery process
• Effectively conduct and facilitate group rehabilitation services
• Maintain timely, accurate, and complete medical charts and client records and prepare reports
• Employ tact and diplomacy, exercise good judgment, and act calmly in emergency situations
• Work from a strengths-based, harm-reduction, social rehabilitation model
• Work effectively with persons differing in value systems, ethnicity, cultural backgrounds, language capabilities, and disabilities
• Work collaboratively with individuals identified as those with serious mental illness who meet specific criteria
• Work with populations identified as high risk and/or considered under-represented in the County Mental Health system with multiple barriers
• Work with participants who may have histories of assaultive behavior, long-term care facility residency, substance abuse, low engagement in medication treatment, difficulty in participating in structured activities and living independently, cognitive difficulties, medical co-morbidities, and medical fragility, and developmental disability
• Knowledge of clinical techniques for assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation of people with mental illness, problem resolution and conflict resolution techniques, and community resources, including those required to meet the non-mental health needs of the target population
• Knowledge of Mental Health Services Act (MHSA) and Wellness Recovery Action Plan (WRAP)

Special Requirements

• Criminal records clearance, as required by Title XXII, other licensing regulations, and Momentum practices
• Valid California Driver’s License, access to a reliable vehicle, proof of auto liability insurance, and a clean DMV record are required for employees working at La Selva Residential
• Preferred for La Selva Outpatient programs
