Clinician I

This is a school-based program providing mental health services in schools throughout Los Angeles County. The position is full-time at a high school in Los Angeles. Bilingual proficiency in Spanish is preferred.

Pay

The initial compensation for this position ranges from $71,760 - $88,256 per year, depending on experience, location, and internal equity considerations.

Possible additional compensation:

• Bilingual differentials: Up to 7.5% for qualifying direct-service roles
• Up to $80.00/month flat fee for qualifying non-direct service roles

About the Role

With limited supervision, this role provides comprehensive assessments, treatment planning, risk assessment, clinical interventions, case management, and coordination of therapeutic activities in the community. The position supports individuals and their families/caregivers in designing and implementing evidence-based treatment for children and adults.

Responsibilities

• Completes culturally relevant assessments and evaluations tailored to youth and family strengths and needs, including identifying target behaviors and their functions.
• Independently develops effective treatment plans with clear, measurable intervention strategies that align with child and family strengths, needs, and cultural preferences.
• Provides clinical leadership by sharing family system observations and behavioral data with the team, emphasizing strengths-based and solution-focused values throughout all service phases (engagement, stabilization, planning, intervention, and transition).
• Records and collects clinical information in a manner that incorporates family input while addressing risks and threats associated with presenting problems.
• Independently coordinates the integration of comprehensive Functional Behavior Analysis and plans into overall child and family service plans, collaborating with family members, referral sources, collateral contacts, community resources, and other agencies.
• Facilitates the development and refinement of effective behavior- and risk-specific reactive and proactive safety plans.
• Monitors the effectiveness and efficiency of interventions with youth and families.
• Demonstrates proficient conflict management and team mediation skills.
• Meets revenue and productivity standards.
• Develops and maintains effective personal organizational systems for paperwork and information management to support timelines and priorities.
• Performs other related responsibilities as assigned to support department or business needs.

Requirements

• Master’s degree (MA/MS) in social work, marriage and family therapy, counseling, psychology, or a related behavioral health field, plus two (2) or more years of relevant experience (including practicum/internship hours). An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered (two years of relevant experience equals one year of education).
• Registration with the California BBS as an Associate Clinical Social Worker (ASW), Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (AMFT), or Associate Professional Clinical Counselor (APCC).
• Must obtain licensure in the State of California within 5 years.
• Familiarity with trauma-informed care, DSM-5 diagnosis, and treatment planning.
