Clinician - Crisis Center

$2,000 sign-on bonus for Clinicians at Spurwink’s new Lewiston Crisis Center—a 24/7, 365-day facility for individuals 14+ facing urgent behavioral-health needs. The center provides stabilization, observation, assessment, and short-term intervention as an alternative to hospitalization or law-enforcement involvement, emphasizing safety, dignity, and recovery in a trauma-informed, culturally sensitive setting.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate the psychosocial needs of patients/clients and their families through thorough crisis evaluations.
• Provide complex discharge planning, coordinate aftercare services, and make referrals to other community services based on the treatment plan.
• Participate in crisis de-escalation and management; maintain awareness of psychosocial stressors likely to increase or result in crisis.
• Offer emotional co-regulation and support to individuals, couples, and families.
• Conduct in-person assessments with participants in the crisis center and engage frequently with participants in an open milieu.

Requirements

• Master’s degree from an accredited school.
• Clinical licensure: LCSW or LCPC preferred; Maine state alcohol and drug counselor certification also preferred.
• 1–2 years of relevant supervisory experience (e.g., mental health, social services) preferred.
• Must maintain required licensing and certification throughout employment.
