Clinician
About the Role
PBMHR has an opening for a Clinician to provide services at our residential crisis center. This position works with adults with a serious mental illness (SMI) diagnosis. The role operates 5 days a week, including weekends. Previous experience in a residential setting and/or with SMI diagnoses is preferred.
For 50 years, Pine Belt Mental Healthcare Resources has served individuals throughout the Pine Belt. Through an extensive continuum of care, we strive to enable adults with serious mental illnesses, children with serious emotional disturbances, and individuals with an addiction or developmental disability to live, work, learn, and participate fully in their communities. Our eighteen-county service area includes Amite, Covington, Forrest, Franklin, Greene, Hancock, Harrison, Jeff Davis, Jones, Lamar, Lawrence, Marion, Pearl River, Perry, Pike, Stone, Walthall, and Wayne.
Responsibilities
- Asks appropriate questions as required by the clinical intake documentation to elicit information.
- Assists consumers in establishing realistic therapeutic goals appropriate to the problems presented.
- Participates in team staffings and functions as a member of the interdisciplinary treatment team.
- Provides clinical therapy services and emergency services to consumers and their families.
- Provides written records of consumer's progress through the therapeutic process.
- Uses information obtained in clinical observations to suggest diagnosis and severity of condition.
Requirements
- Master's degree in a behavioral health field (required).
- Clinical license preferred; must be able to obtain a clinical license or DMH Therapist certification within 90 days of hire.
- Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.
- Behavioral health experience preferred.
- Behavioral health internship required.
- Excellent communication skills required.
- Ability to work independently.
Schedule
Regular full-time position, 5 days a week including weekends.
