About the Role

At KidsPeace, the Clinician role is primarily responsible for oversight and coordination of clinical services offered to assigned clients, including the provision of individual, group, and family therapy within our residential environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical services and individual, group, and family therapy using appropriate approaches, techniques, and interventions within assigned caseload.
  • Participate in treatment planning, discharge, and aftercare planning.
  • Maintain regular communication with internal and external customers and provide psychoeducation as necessary.
  • Co-manage the therapeutic environment by working with treatment team members to ensure coordinated treatment and care of clients; recommend program and treatment strategies and consult on client issues.
  • Assist in the performance and/or observation of restraints as necessary when ordered by a licensed professional using the current approved KidsPeace restraint methodology on youth who may weigh in excess of 250 pounds and who are physically threatening or otherwise presenting a threat to themselves or others.
  • Maintain awareness of the KidsPeace continuum of services and actively promote the internal transfer and referral of children and families whenever clinically indicated by attending bi-annual training on the continuum and communicating with associates between levels of care.
  • Actively seek opportunities to share information about the continuum with consumers as evidenced by written documentation in the client record.
  • Perform all program or state-specific job duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or related field required.
  • License eligible required.
