About the Role

The Clinician, Advanced Wound Healing Services is responsible for providing clinical oversight for wound care at multiple sites within the organization. This role establishes standards of care and clinical competencies to meet patient needs, develops training programs to ensure clinical expertise, and plans, implements, and evaluates educational activities to address identified health needs. The Clinician functions as a professional Clinical Nurse, overseeing patient care delivery through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation, tailored to the ages of patients served. They also direct daily workflow processes, maintain environmental and infection control standards, and ensure confidentiality of all hospital/staff information.

Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical oversight for wound care across multiple sites
  • Establish standards of care and clinical competencies
  • Develop and implement training programs to ensure clinical expertise
  • Plan, implement, and evaluate educational activities to meet health needs
  • Oversee patient care delivery through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation
  • Direct and lead daily workflow processes
  • Maintain environmental and infection control standards
  • Ensure confidentiality of all hospital/staff information

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing; BS in Nursing preferred
  • Current New York State Professional RN License
  • Wound Care Certification from a nationally accredited wound program required within two (2) years of employment (e.g., WCC, CWCN, COCN, CCCN, CWON, or CWS)
  • BLS certification required

Experience

  • Minimum three (3) years clinical experience
  • Teaching experience preferred
  • Relevant/current experience in a Wound Care patient setting preferred

Skills

  • Knowledge of current technology and products used in wound treatment
  • Familiarity with Department of Health regulations
  • Ability to travel between multiple Wound Care sites
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Organizational and leadership abilities
  • Ability to supervise, provide direction, and motivate workforce
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment in executing responsibilities

Working Conditions

Able to work well in stressful situations and conditions of frequent interruption.
