Clinical Trial Lifestyle Coach – Cardiometabolic HealthRemote / Telehealth | Clinical ResearchHelp Patients Build Healthier Habits While Participating in Clinical ResearchWe are seeking an engaging, patient-focused Lifestyle Coach to support individuals participating in clinical trials evaluating new approaches to cardiovascular health, weight management, and cardiometabolic disease.In this fully virtual role, you will meet with clinical trial participants through scheduled telehealth visits and provide structured coaching and education focused on healthy eating habits, physical activity, wellness, and sustainable lifestyle change.This is not a clinical research coordinator position, and a Registered Dietitian credential is not required. The Lifestyle Coach will work within study-specific guidelines and educational materials to help participants establish goals, identify barriers, build healthy habits, and remain engaged in lifestyle changes throughout their clinical trial participation.What You Will DoConduct scheduled virtual lifestyle coaching visits with clinical trial participantsProvide protocol-directed education and coaching related to healthy eating, physical activity, wellness, and behavioral changeHelp participants establish realistic and achievable lifestyle goalsWork with participants to identify barriers and develop practical strategies to support healthier habitsDiscuss progress, successes, challenges, and barriers during follow-up visitsUse motivational interviewing and other behavior-change techniques to encourage participant engagement and sustainable changeReinforce general principles related to balanced food choices, portion awareness, meal planning, hydration, physical activity, sleep, and overall wellnessProvide encouragement, accountability, and practical strategies to help participants remain engaged with their lifestyle goalsFollow study protocols, visit schedules, educational materials, and other study-specific requirementsAccurately and promptly document each participant interaction in the designated electronic system of recordComplete required study assessments, questionnaires, and documentationRecognize questions or concerns that fall outside the Lifestyle Coach's scope and appropriately escalate them to the clinical research team or investigatorCollaborate with physicians, research coordinators, and other members of the clinical trial teamMaintain participant confidentiality and follow HIPAA, Good Clinical Practice (GCP), and applicable clinical research requirementsWhat You Will Not Be Responsible ForThe Lifestyle Coach does not independently diagnose or treat medical conditions, provide individualized medical nutrition therapy, recommend changes to medications or study treatment, or provide medical advice.Questions regarding medications, symptoms, adverse events, or other clinical concerns will be referred to the appropriate member of the clinical research team.What We Are Looking ForWe are interested in candidates with backgrounds in health and wellness coaching, exercise science, health education, nutrition education, behavioral science, public health, fitness, or other related fields.The ideal candidate will have:Bachelor's degree in health sciences, exercise science, nutrition, public health, health education, psychology, behavioral science, or a related field preferredExperience in health coaching, wellness, weight management, patient education, fitness, or behavior-change programsStrong interpersonal skills and an ability to establish meaningful rapport with patients in a virtual environmentAn encouraging, nonjudgmental approach to discussing weight, nutrition, activity, and lifestyle behaviorsAbility to motivate individuals while recognizing that sustainable change looks different for every participantStrong organizational skills and attention to detailComfort learning and working within structured clinical trial protocolsAbility to learn electronic documentation and clinical research systems quicklyExcellent verbal and written communication skillsAbility to work independently in a remote environment while remaining closely connected with the clinical research teamPreferred QualificationsHealth and wellness coaching certification, such as NBC-HWC, or similar trainingExperience with motivational interviewing or other evidence-based behavior-change techniquesExperience supporting individuals with cardiovascular disease, obesity, diabetes, metabolic conditions, or other chronic health conditionsExperience providing virtual or telehealth-based coachingExperience with structured lifestyle or weight-management programsPrior clinical research experience is helpful but not requiredWhy This Role Is DifferentClinical research is about more than evaluating a treatment. Many studies also seek to understand how nutrition, physical activity, behavioral change, and sustainable healthy habits can contribute to better health outcomes.As a Clinical Trial Lifestyle Coach, you will develop ongoing relationships with study participants—helping them establish goals, work through barriers, recognize progress, and build healthier habits while they contribute to research that may shape future approaches to cardiovascular and metabolic health.Clinical research experience is not required. We are looking for someone who is exceptional at connecting with people, coaching behavior change, and helping individuals turn health recommendations into achievable everyday actions.
