Clinical Training and Program Development Specialist (Senior Clinical Research Associate)

About the role

The Clinical Training and Program Development Specialist (Senior Clinical Research Associate) supports the advancement of innovative early psychosis and substance use prevention and treatment programs through clinical training, consultation, research, and program development. The role works at the intersection of clinical practice, implementation science, and community engagement to improve outcomes for youth and young adults.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical expertise, training, consultation, and program improvement support for early psychosis intervention and substance use services.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to evaluate program effectiveness, incorporate emerging research, and develop continuous improvement strategies.
• Engage with individuals receiving services, families, support networks, and community organizations using culturally responsive and trauma-informed approaches.
• Design and support community education initiatives, research projects, training materials, procedures, and operational improvements aligned with program goals.
• Contribute to publications, reports, and other knowledge-sharing activities as needed.
• Support initiatives focused on equity, inclusion, anti-racism, and improving access to care for diverse populations.

Requirements

• Strong clinical research experience, expertise in mental health and substance use services, and the ability to collaborate effectively across diverse communities and professional teams.
• A Master’s degree in a relevant field with at least 5 years of clinical research coordination experience, or a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field with at least 9 years of clinical research coordination experience.
• Demonstrated knowledge of adolescent and young adult development, family systems, group dynamics, and evidence-based clinical practices.
• Experience working with DSM-5 diagnoses, mental health treatment interventions, and substance use conditions affecting adolescents and young adults.
• Experience providing person-centered, strengths-based support in collaboration with individuals, families, and community partners.
• Training and experience in substance use differential diagnosis and treatment.
• Knowledge of early psychosis intervention models, implementation science, and clinical program development.
• Experience working with diverse populations, including LGBTQ+ communities, culturally specific groups, and geographically underserved areas.
• Strong understanding of cultural humility, equity practices, and trauma-informed approaches.
• Ability to develop and adapt clinical training programs, policies, and care models centered on lived experiences.
• Excellent organizational, communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
• CADC I, II, or III certification.
• Active professional license or eligibility for licensure in counseling, marriage and family therapy, social work, psychology, or a related discipline.
• Valid driver’s license.

Preferred qualifications

• A doctoral degree.
• SIPS certification.
• Experience delivering coordinated specialty care for early psychosis.
• Experience facilitating family psychoeducation programs.

Pay

Competitive salary range of approximately $72,446 - $120,765 USD, based on experience, education, and internal equity.
