Core Job Functions

  • Performs tests on routine and complex samples using LC-MS/MS, GC-MS, HS-GC-FID, and GC-MS/MS instrumentation and SPE and LLE sample preparation techniques.
  • Reviews patient sample results and all QC results.
  • Analyzes patient samples to detect and quantify drugs, narcotics, poisons, or other controlled substances using instrumental chemical techniques, including (but now limited to) gas and liquid chromatography and mass spectrometry.
  • Utilizes software platforms such as ChemStation® and MassHunter® to operate instruments, and Sunquest, UChart, and Microsoft Office.
  • Performs routine maintenance on instrumentation and equipment.
  • Affords assistance with laboratory quality assurance and quality control functions, including QC tracking and routine laboratory duties.

Core Qualifications

  • Education: Associate degree in relevant field required.
  • Certification and Licensing: Valid State of Florida Clinical Laboratory Personnel license required.
