Our services include a state-of-the-art psychiatric urgent care center, a soon-to-be-built pediatric behavioral health center, outpatient, inpatient, partial hospitalization (day programs), assessment and testing, residential, addiction treatment, and specialty services such as crisis response, employee assistance programs, forensic psychiatry and psychology, and neuromodulation.

About the role

As a Clinical Therapist at Pine Rest, you’ll be part of a tight-knit team that believes in the healing power of your expertise and compassion. You will provide assessment, counseling, treatment, referrals, and advocacy services for patients while upholding the highest quality care in accordance with all standards and bylaws set by government agencies and Pine Rest.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in the interviewing of persons served and assess them through mental status reviews and records obtained from other patient care staff.
  • Select and complete appropriate therapeutic interventions based on clinical knowledge and educational background (including individual, group, family, experiential, and evidence-based models).
  • Collaborate with other treatment team members regarding patients’ progress through interdisciplinary team meetings, record review, and informal discussions.
  • Ensure compliance with medical record documentation protocols, including timely entry of progress notes into medical records.
  • Coordinate services and community resources as needed and assist persons served in obtaining them.
  • Participate regularly in departmental and staff meetings and serve on programs or organizational committees as required.
  • Maintain all Michigan licensure requirements and stay updated on current trends in treatment and counseling through professional literature and continuing education.
  • Participate in education and training programs for persons served, families, or community groups.
  • Write behavior management plans for patients as part of consultation, when needed.
  • Provide consultation to professionals, hospitals, organizations, or agencies outside of Pine Rest.
  • Create a customer-friendly environment and may conduct home visits for persons served.
  • May work weekends and/or evenings as required.
  • Provide supervision and training to interns as assigned.
  • Conduct research as needed.
  • Support and promote a recovery-focused environment and person-centered approach within the program.
  • Initiate and implement clinical safety precautions and assist in developing safety plans during crisis situations.
  • Uphold the healing ministry of Christ through relationships that honor integrity, stewardship, empowerment, diversity, and professional excellence.
  • Maintain annual training and demonstrate competency in required programmatic training.
  • Perform other duties or functions as assigned.

Additional Responsibilities for the Lotus Department

  • Provide direct clinical care and clinical feedback when assisting in the program.
  • Direct tasks of team/program members and actively participate in each task.
  • Communicate clinical changes to the program clinical team and on-call clinician.
  • Utilize evidence-based interventions to assist with clinical care of all residents.
  • Assist and participate in crisis situations during times of escalation.
  • Provide consistent leadership during crisis situations.

Requirements

  • Current state licensure in an accredited Master’s level program in Social Work, limited license Psychology, or Professional Counseling.
  • Obtain and maintain in good standing certification commensurate with treatment provided.
  • Trained to work in the age group of the patient being served, with annual continuing age-specific education and demonstrated competence.
  • One to two years of postgraduate clinical experience.
