About the role

Central City Health (CCH) has been serving the under-housed and at-risk population in metro Detroit since 1972, by providing integrated healthcare services. Our services include primary and pediatric care, dental care, behavioral and SUD care, supportive housing, and community re-entry services, to name a few. Responsibilities

  • Conducts initial intakes and annual updates.
  • Engages members in a welcoming, empathetic manner even during acute phase.
  • Screens members for co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders.
  • Demonstrates the knowledge of diagnostic criteria for psychiatric and substance use disorders.
  • Provides therapeutic interventions to members and families during individual and/or group therapy.
  • Provides crisis intervention as needed.
  • Evaluates the progress of individuals on an ongoing basis.
  • Obtains information when appropriate from a variety of sources to develop a clinical history.
  • Attends Interdisciplinary team meetings to review problems and plan for solutions.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in social work, psychology or counseling required.
  • Current State of Michigan licensure required (LMSW, LLMSW, LP, LLP or PC).
  • 1 year experience treating: mental illness, SUD/Co-Occurring behaviors preferred.
  • Must complete requirements for MCBAP Development Plan within 90 DOH.
  • Valid Michigan Chauffeur’s Driver’s License (CDL) required. Must obtain within 30 days of employment.
  • Must adhere to State of MI driving laws & maintain an insurable driving record.

Qualifications

  • Education: Master’s degree in social work, psychology or counseling required.
  • Experience: 1 year experience treating: mental illness, SUD/Co-Occurring behaviors preferred.
  • Licensure: Current State of Michigan licensure required (LMSW, LLMSW, LP, LLP or PC).
