Principal Duties And Responsibilities
- Ensure each resident on his or her caseload receives a minimum of three individual therapy sessions each week (a minimum weekly total of 120 minutes).
- Ensure each resident on his or her caseload receives a minimum of two group therapy sessions per week.
- Responsible for evaluating residents; formulating written individualized plans of care; providing active treatment measures; and engaging in discharge planning.
- Serve as the supervisor of the Active Treatment Plans of the residents on the therapist’s caseload.
- Integrate the various aspects of the resident’s program.
- Record residents' progress as measured by objective indicators and make appropriate changes/modifications to the Active Treatment Plan as indicated.
- Serve as a liaison between the resident, provider, family, and community during the resident’s admission to and residence in the facility, or while the resident is receiving services from the provider.
- Serve as a representative of the agency in the community.
Qualifications
- Must have a fundamental love for children and a desire to be an agent for change in their lives.
- Must have empathy for others and practice the Golden Rule in relationships with residents and their families, with fellow staff members, and with others.
- Must be an active, eager learner and willing to try new methods.
- Must be a Licensed Mental Health Professional or actively pursuing state licensure (LPC, LMFT, LCSW).
- Must possess a strong sense of personal authority, maturity, and integrity for agency-wide leadership role.
- Must be able to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, in a diverse range of audiences and settings.
- Must be skilled in conflict resolution and mediation.
- Must possess strong leadership skills to promote staff unity, staff morale, and cooperative relationships among various agency departments.
- Must use good social skills with residents, their family members, and fellow staff members.
- Must protect the confidentiality of residents, their family members, and all Protected Health Information (PHI).
- Must have a strong work ethic and be willing to commit to significant job responsibilities.
- Must be flexible and able to function in demanding position.
