General Requirements
- Master of Science in Psychology, Master of Clinical Social Work, Master of Arts in Counseling, or other related degree
- Licensed by the State of Michigan
Roots Qualifications
- Specialized training in trauma/psychosomatic treatment, play therapy, or related specialty areas (such as EMDR, TBRI, Theraplay, Play Project, DIR, etc.)
- Experience working with challenging populations/disorders/diagnoses
- Commitment to interdisciplinary work, recognizing the importance and value of a holistic treatment approach
Job Expectations
- Assess, diagnose, and treat individuals for a variety of psychological, behavioral, relational, and other social-emotional delays and disorders.
- Initial assessments completed and signed within ten (10) days assessment date
- Progress notes completed and signed within five (5) days of session date
- Some after-school/evening and/or weekend availability for patients (minimum of 5 available appointment slots per week)
- Part-time clinicians expected to have a minimum of 17 available appointment slots per week
- Full-time clinicians expected to have a minimum of 30 available appointment slots per week
- High attention to detail when planning, implementing, evaluating and documenting treatment.
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills
- Ability to successfully utilize EHR (electronic health record) system for scheduling, documentation, and patient record management.
- Ability to work independently, meet deadlines and maintain regular attendance
