Position Overview
The Clinical Coordinator will work with Young Adults, ages 18-24, who have a serious mental illness or serious emotional disturbance. The role involves managing clinical issues including substance use disorders, mental health, and cognitive disabilities. The ideal candidate must communicate effectively with diverse populations and provide specialized assessments and interventions.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Provides integrated counseling and holistic services to promote personal growth, wellness, and achievement of service plan goals.
- Maintains confidential records, charts, and logs for youth, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
- De-escalates crises and attends to emergencies following agency protocols.
- Advocates for youth with external service providers and coordinates workshops on life skills.
- Collaborates with community providers and participates in multidisciplinary meetings to assess and address youth's needs.
- Maintains positive relationships with youth while respecting boundaries and demonstrating mutual respect.
- Performs additional duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Human Services or related field required, or Bachelor’s degree with 4 years of relevant experience.
- 2+ years of management experience in social service or related settings, preferably with psychiatric disabilities and substance use.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to interact professionally with diverse staff, consumers, and stakeholders.
- Strong administrative and organizational skills.
- Experience using the recovery model with adults with psychiatric disabilities and a commitment to peer support.
Preferred Qualifications & Skills
- LMSW preferred.
- Bilingual English/Spanish speaking preferred.
