Clinical Support Provider
About the role
Full-time, onsite position at Safe Harbor Ohio in Holmes County, OH. Clinical Support Providers offer therapeutic support for each resident in their assigned cottage as a member of the resident's clinical team. The CSP assists in providing crisis support and is an integral part of the cottage and clinical teams, working as a bridge between the clinical and operational teams to best meet the needs of the residents.
Essential duties & responsibilities
- Maintain a "team first" spirit and atmosphere within the workplace, promoting collaboration and appropriate working relationships
- Work with clinical and operational teams to mediate group or individual conflicts and help youth find solutions
- Prevent conflicts by instructing/teaching about rules, consequences, and alternative behaviors during non-conflict times
- Aid in de-escalation and provide preventative interventions for clients
- Work with clients on REACH program (help complete packets, develop skills/character qualities, facilitate checkpoints for progression)
- Communicate effectively with cottage team, both verbally and in writing, regarding treatment progress, planning decisions, and problems
- Aid in hygiene, independent living skills, and other needs of clients
- Attend meetings and share clinical observations about resident issues (peer problems, moods, preferences, sleep patterns, family relationships, etc.)
- Complete appropriate logs, reports, and forms including all service provision notes (checking alerts consistently to reconcile them) and non-billable case notes within agency deadlines and standards
- Assist operational team with family time/visitation, greet guests, meet with parents for parent education and/or other activities assigned in clients' ITP
- Evaluate client's emotional and physical needs before, during, and after family time; provide interventions to assist with identified needs
- Supervise/monitor phone calls and family time/visitation as needed/assigned
- Follow all policies/procedures/protocols regarding critical incidents
- Assist with facilitating the spending of clothing vouchers for clients
- Compile inventory of clients' belongings upon intake, monitor ongoing inventory as clients acquire more items, and complete discharge inventory
- Facilitate group sessions to help kids find hope and insight into their present and future dreams/goals
- Meet individually with each resident on caseload
- Meet weekly productivity requirements according to agency standards
- Develop and maintain cottage papers (chore list, laundry/prayer day, seating arrangements, shower schedule) as new intakes occur, as changes happen, and on a monthly basis
- Work on the floor as directed/asked by supervisors to fill in staffing holes; complete duties of a Treatment Specialist on these days (up to 20 days per year)
- Earn and maintain Safe Crisis Management certification and actively engage with clients using SCM skills when needed

- Competency with Microsoft Office Suite and the internet, as well as CCHO clinical documentation software (electronic health record)
- Ability to function well in a fast-paced environment and cope with high levels of stress
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in social work or related field, OR 3 years experience working with clients receiving mental health treatment
- Ohio LSW preferred; may consider those actively seeking social work degree/Ohio LSW
- Valid Ohio Driver's License and driving record that allows individual to be insurable on agency policy (occasional travel required)
- Must be 21 or older to apply
Physical requirements
- Frequently required to walk, sit, talk, and hear, including standing or walking for extended periods, sometimes through uneven terrain
- Often required to use hands/fingers, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
- Specific vision abilities required: close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
- Regularly able to lift/move up to 50 pounds
- Must be able to be outdoors in various weather conditions for extended amounts of time
- Must be able to drive a vehicle legally and safely in the state of Ohio
- Must maintain compliance/certification with CCHO's requirements for using physical restraints (SCM: Safe Crisis Management), including sufficient strength and completion of extensive training
- Physical ability to respond to crisis, including but not limited to running and performing physical restraints
- While performing duties, occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, and outside weather conditions; noise level is varied, often loud and chaotic
