Clinical Supervisor

Job Summary

As an integral part of UCS Healthcare's clinical team, the Clinical Supervisor oversees and develops daily workflows, ensuring adequate staffing levels are maintained clinically, ethically, and legally. This role involves providing observation to direct reports of both individual and group sessions, coordinating treatment modalities, and maintaining clinical files according to company policy, CARF standards, and regulatory requirements.

Essential Functions

• Oversees and develops daily workflows of the department.

• Completes assessments within scope of license, provides individual and group sessions, and maintains own caseload.

• Observes and evaluates direct reports during individual and group sessions.

• Collaborates with clinical staff in supervision, focusing on client welfare and service integrity.

• Maintains and documents client data, identifies quality assurance issues, and monitors resource usage.

• Performs assessments as needed and consults with clinical staff regarding new and amended regulations.

• Communicates and follows ethical guidelines, including the Code of Ethics for each staff member based on their credential and license board.

• Manages and develops the clinical team, including interviewing and selecting new team members, setting goals, and providing feedback.

• Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local laws, including HIPAA/42CFR part 2 and CARF requirements.

• Completes required training in a timely manner.

Minimum Required Knowledge, Education, Experience, Skills, and Abilities

• Minimum of a bachelor’s degree and 5 years of experience as a CADC.

• Four years’ experience in Human Services or related field.

• Productive supervisory and leadership skills.

Preferred Knowledge, Education, Experience, Skills, and Abilities

• Master’s degree in behavioral health or related field.

• Five years’ experience in Human Services or related field.

• IADC/IAADC by the State of Iowa.

• Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) or Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LISW) with 3 years of having a full license.

Physical Requirements

• Must be accessible by phone or email regularly to address operational needs.

• Ability to sit for extended periods and work on a computer.

• A valid driver's license is required and liability insurance or an equivalent means of reliable personal transportation may be necessary.

• Must have the ability to travel to all 3 UCS clinic locations (West Des Moines, Ankeny, and Knoxville).
