Job Overview
The Clinical Supervisor is responsible for overseeing counselors and ensuring the delivery of high-quality care to clients in a supportive and therapeutic environment. This role includes evaluating potential clients, assisting in treatment plan development, and maintaining compliance with clinical standards.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Evaluate potential clients for the appropriate level of care and identify DSM IV-TR diagnoses (Axis I-V).
- Assist counselors in developing effective treatment plans.
- Facilitate treatment team meetings and participate in case consultations.
- Provide individual and group supervision to counselors and other assigned staff.
- Attend shift change and company meetings.
- Maintain a manageable caseload as needed.
- Absorb new programs for the facility.
- Attend necessary training sessions.
- Perform clerical duties for maintaining client files.
- Listen to clients regarding all areas of treatment.
- Maintain a safe, orderly, and therapeutic environment, including crisis intervention.
- Ensure the clinical program operates daily as scheduled.
Required Qualifications / Education, Licensure, & Experience
- A Master’s Degree in chemical dependency, psychology, social work, counseling, nursing (with a clinical specialty in administration or human services), or a related field.
- A minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in a health and human services agency, including at least 1 year working directly with chemically dependent individuals.
- Previous supervisory experience is preferred.

- Knowledge of addiction treatment, mental health, and recovery modalities.
- Familiarity with DSM criteria and treatment planning.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
