This posting is for multiple openings of Clinical Student Intern - Phlebotomy at Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center & Children's Hospital in Spokane, WA. We are hiring for Full-Time and Temporary opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Perform specimen collection, transport, and processing
• Maintain control and management of confidential information
• Utilize age-related concepts when communicating with patients and families across the lifespan:
  • Neonates (0–1 month)
  • Infants (1 month to 1 year)
  • Toddlers (1–2 years)
  • Preschoolers (3–5 years)
  • School age (6–12 years)
  • Adolescents (13–17 years)
  • Early adult (18–35 years)
  • Middle adult (36–65 years)
  • Older adult (66+ years)
• Use medical equipment and participate in diagnostic or other procedures

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• Washington Medical Assistant-Phlebotomist Certification within 6 months (180 days) of hire

Preferred Qualifications

• Selected for enrollment in the Providence School of Phlebotomy training program
• Complete the Providence School of Phlebotomy training program within 3 months of hire
• 1 year of healthcare experience including verbal interactions with patients, physicians and other healthcare professionals
• 6 months of customer service experience and phone experience
• 6 months of laboratory or related science experience

Pay

The base pay range for this position is $17.25 – $23.89 per hour. Additional compensation may be available, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
