About the role
The Registered Nurse CSL provides individualized, goal-directed patient care to families and patients at the competent level utilizing the principles and practices of the nursing process; delivers safe and effective care and interacts with other members of the health care team to achieve desired results.
Responsibilities
- Directs and leads other assigned team members and collaborates with multidisciplinary team members to provide age/developmentally appropriate care in accordance with nursing standards of care and practice.
- Provides patient/family centered care using the nursing process and focusing on the physical, emotional, spiritual, cultural, religious, and environmental needs.
- Maintains a safe, therapeutic, and healing environment through ensuring patient privacy and responsive, respectful, accepting, and professional behavior.
- Demonstrates the ability to function in a professional setting through active participation in a professional practice model.
- Coordinates the effective and efficient delivery of patient care services through the application of care management principles.
- Identifies clinical priorities and initiates action to improve patient outcomes.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Nursing degree or Associates of Nursing degree and currently enrolled in an accredited BSN program with two years of work experience as a Registered Nurse required.
- Certification in specialty area is strongly preferred.
- Successful completion of CSL competency-based training is required within a designated time period.
Qualifications
- Extensive knowledge of the department’s patient population, health care trends, community and regional resources and service availability to these populations.
- Demonstrated ability to establish effective collegial working relationships with diverse groups and individuals, medical staff, and other healthcare disciplines.
Skills
- Ability to perform job functions while standing, sitting, walking, climbing stairs, working indoors, working outside in temperature extremes, working from elevated areas, twisting at the waist, reaching overhead, reaching in all directions, lifting and carrying 50 lbs., pushing/pulling objects 50 lbs., exerting up to 50 lbs. of force, maintaining 20/40 vision, corrected, in one eye or with both eyes, determining distance/relationship between objects, depth perception, good peripheral vision capabilities, maintaining hearing acuity, with correction, performing gross motor functions with frequent fine motor movements, dealing effectively with stressful situations, working rotating shifts, working overtime as required, being qualified physically for respirator use, initially and as required, maintaining good olfactory sensory function, and being qualified physically for respirator use, initially and as required.
