Clinical Staff Leader - Pediatric Progressive Care Unit

About the role

The Registered Nurse Clinical Staff Leader ensures clinical care delivery and optimal patient outcomes in an 18‑bed mixed‑acuity unit serving patients in general pediatrics, endocrinology, infectious diseases, rheumatology, pulmonology, nephrology and neurology. The role involves providing clinical patient care, assuring quality, serving as a professional nursing role model, reviewing staffing based on patient acuity, assessing nursing service needs, and recommending corrective actions.

Responsibilities

• Ensure clinical care delivery and optimal patient outcomes.
• Provide clinical patient care.
• Assist in ensuring the quality of patient care delivery in a specific patient care area and serve as a role model for professional nursing practice.
• Review appropriate staffing based on patient acuity and patient needs.
• Assess nursing service needs relative to patient needs within the unit and recommend corrective actions when appropriate.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or Master's Degree in Nursing required.
• Two (2) years clinical experience required.
• Progressive leadership experience required.
• Currently licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse by state of employment or holds a multistate RN license through the interstate Nurse Licensure Compact.
• AHA BLS certification required prior to end of orientation period.
