About the Unit
This is a 22-bed unit with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5-6. The unit primarily cares for patients aged 65 or older with a variety of Medical, Surgical, Cardiac, or Neurological conditions, including:
- Cognitive impairment
- Loss of mobility
- Respiratory conditions
- Gastrointestinal conditions
- Renal conditions
- Neurological conditions
- Psychiatric conditions
- Cardiac conditions
Responsibilities
- Interacts with and contributes to the professional development of their cohort and other staff as needed.
- Defines standards for quality patient care.
- Develops, manages, and evaluates the unit based on work team performance.
- Manages multiple projects and ongoing work activities (timelines, work plans, deliverables) while maintaining alignment with the strategic plan and vision.
- Acts as a clinical leader and facilitates education for staff on clinical standards; routinely provides guidance and coaching to subordinates and peers within clinical specialty(ies).
- Ensures clinical assignments are based on patient care needs and demonstrated staff competencies.
- Additional duties may be assigned.
Requirements
- 1 year of RN experience
- Bachelor’s Degree
- TN nursing license or active compact license

Schedule
This position works two 8-hour administrative shifts and two 12-hour charge shifts on the night shift, totaling 40 hours per week.
