Clinical Sr. Research Assistant
About the role
The Clinical Sr. Research Assistant will oversee key aspects of clinical research studies, including subject recruitment, data collection, and the development and maintenance of databases. The role also involves data analysis to interpret findings and contribute to the preparation of scientific manuscripts for publication. The Clinical Research Assistant will manage day-to-day project tasks, ensuring timelines are met and study protocols are followed. The Clinical Research Assistant will work closely with the PI and research teams to maintain high standards of quality and compliance throughout the project lifecycle. This position requires strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills to support both the scientific and operational aspects of research.
Responsibilities
- Develops epidemiology questionnaires and study protocols.
- Builds and maintains databases using REDCap.
- IRB preparation.
- Subject recruitment and data collection.
- Reviews and collects clinical and laboratory results from EPIC.
- Performs data analysis for progress report.
- Contributes to the preparation of scientific manuscripts for publication.
- Provides general administrative support (e.g., literature reviews, study reports, etc.).
- Performs all tasks in basic clinical studies.
- Affords assistance with and performs various administrative and operational tasks as assigned under direct supervision.
- Supports quality assurance reviews conducted by study sponsors, federal agencies, or specially designated review groups.
- Acquires and applies knowledge of clinical studies to collect analyzable clinical research data and/or samples.
- Performs other related work as needed.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications: Vocational training, apprenticeships or the equivalent experience in related field (not typically required to have a four-year degree). Work Experience: Knowledge and skills developed through < 2 years of work experience in a related job discipline.
Qualifications
Education: MPH. Experience: Work experience with clinical research study recruitment. Data analysis work experience. Contribution to preparation of scientific manuscripts.
Skills
Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills to support both the scientific and operational aspects of research.
