About the Role

In Abbott’s Electrophysiology (EP) business, we’re advancing the treatment of heart disease through breakthrough medical technologies in atrial fibrillation, allowing people to restore their health and get on with their lives.

Working under general direction, you will provide engineering, sales, educational, and technical support in response to field inquiries from physicians, healthcare professionals, patients, and field sales staff involving EP products. This role involves a high degree of independence and requires you to identify and use the most effective, cost-efficient, and best business practices.

Responsibilities

• Act as a clinical interface between the medical community and the business, building and sustaining credible relationships with customers while sharing product expertise.
• Provide engineering, sales, education, and clinical support in response to field inquiries on an as-needed basis, demonstrating thorough command of all EP products and related technical knowledge.
• Develop, lead, and facilitate trainings and programs on EP products for healthcare professionals.
• Provide insight, guidance, and feedback to management on market trends and next-generation product components.
• Provide regional EP procedural case coverage.
• Offer back-up support to EP Sales Representatives in sales support, regional training seminars, clinical studies/data collection, troubleshooting, and new product in-service training.
• Continuously develop engineering, sales, and technical skills relative to the overall Arrhythmia Management strategy.
• Assist Training and Education departments with advanced educational seminars and preparation of materials.
• Assist Sales with advanced product demonstrations to visiting physicians and sales personnel.
• Stay current on developments in your field, regulatory requirements, and industry trends, including competitor products and market objectives.
• Resolve and facilitate resolution of problems, identifying root causes to prevent recurrence.
• Perform related functions and responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Bio-Medical Engineering, a related field, or equivalent healthcare experience.
• Ability to become certified on EP products.
• Minimum of 6 months in a Clinical Specialist position.
• Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience (internal or external with an industry competitor).
• Achieves or exceeds expectations in most recent performance review.
• Average of 15+ cases per month for 6-12 consecutive months as primary mapper.
• Primary mapper on complex cases for 6+ months (minimum of 3 complex cases over the last 6 months).
• Demonstrated ability to increase utilization of Abbott Advanced Mapping and Ablation Tools.
• Complete monthly sales activities at assigned accounts.
• Satisfy all vendor credentialing requirements, which may include vaccination for COVID-19. Accommodations for medical or religious reasons can be discussed with HR.

Pay

The base pay for this position is $61,300.00 – $122,700.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
