Clinical Social Worker, Per Diem, Faulkner Hospital

About the role

The Clinical Social Worker is responsible for providing bio-psychosocial assessments and interventions for patients and/or families in inpatient medicine and surgery, Addiction Recovery Program, or emergency department. Reporting to the Social Work Manager or a designated supervisor, the social worker will help the interdisciplinary team understand the influence of psychosocial factors on medical care.

Responsibilities

• Provide rapid clinical psychosocial assessments and interventions with individuals and families
• Lead groups for inpatient addiction program (preferred)
• Identify high-risk psychosocial factors impacting a patient’s health status
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to address potential barriers to care in the community and around discharge needs
• Advocate and negotiate systems for/with patients
• Work effectively as a member of a multi-disciplinary team

Requirements

• Master’s Degree in Social Work from an accredited program
• Current professional licensure in Massachusetts (LCSW required, LICSW preferred)
• Minimum of one year experience working in a health care setting or related field preferred
• Minimum of graduate level internship experience in appropriate setting
• Knowledge of specific medical/psychiatric illnesses, procedures and treatments
• Excellent interpersonal skills, including negotiation skills necessary to work within a team
• Advanced crisis intervention skills
• Knowledge of community agencies/resources
• Tolerance for ambiguity
• Cultural sensitivity

Qualifications

• Knowledge of mandated reporting
• Knowledge of cultural and/or age-specific impacts
• Knowledge of homelessness
• Knowledge of substance use disorders
• Knowledge of psychiatric illness
• Knowledge of various community agency and resources available

$32.47 - $47.23/Hourly

Schedule

Shift is 8:30am-5pm on weekdays, weekends and/or holidays as needed on a per diem basis
