About the Role
Under the general direction of the Senior Psychologist, Correctional Facility (CF) or the Supervising Psychiatric Social Worker, CF, the Clinical Social Worker conducts assessments, summarizes case information for diagnosis and treatment planning, and collaborates with the interdisciplinary team to develop, monitor, and modify treatment plans. Responsibilities include providing group therapy, documenting patient progress, coordinating placement with community resources, and working with the Classification and Parole Representative.
Responsibilities
- Conduct assessments and summarize case information for diagnosis, treatment, and dispositional release.
- Diagnose or collaborate in the formulation of a diagnosis.
- Develop, monitor, and modify treatment plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary treatment team.
- Provide group therapy, collateral conferences, and document and evaluate patients’ progress in treatment.
- Coordinate placement with community resources and the Classification and Parole Representative.
Pay
This classification is subject to Section 5, Hiring-Above-Minimum (HAM) Authorization of the California State Civil Service Pay Scales. The authorized HAM rate for this classification is P $8,678 - Q $9,319 per month.
Effective July 1, 2025, the Personal Leave Program 2025 (PLP 2025) reduces base salary by 3% for full-time employees in Bargaining Unit 19 and related categories, with 5 PLP 2025 leave credits granted monthly through June 2027. Part-time and permanent intermittent employees are subject to prorated conditions.
A recruitment and retention bonus may be available for newly hired clinicians, including a one-time $10,000 stipend (after six months of employment) and a monthly differential totaling $20,000 during the first year, contingent on eligibility.
CDCR and CCHCS employees may be eligible for a $5,000 referral bonus if the selected candidate remains employed for 90 days. A questionnaire must be completed during the pre-employment process.
