About the role
The University of Pennsylvania School of Nursing seeks part-time Clinical Simulation Instructors to facilitate formative and summative simulation sessions at the undergraduate level. These instructors provide feedback on pre-simulation assignments to prepare learners for an active and engaging educational experience, foster clinical judgment through reflective questioning during debriefing, and ensure a safe learning environment.
Responsibilities
- Facilitate simulation sessions for undergraduate students across various nursing courses including Health Assessment, Medical-Surgical, Pediatric, Obstetrical, Community, Psychiatric Mental Health, and Leadership Nursing.
- Provide feedback on pre-simulation assignments to prepare learners for their active participation in simulation sessions.
- Foster clinical judgment among learners by posing reflective questions during debriefing sessions.
- Create a safe learning environment that supports an optimal educational experience for undergraduate nursing students.
Qualifications
- A Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) from an accredited institution is required.
- A current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Pennsylvania is required.
- Nurses who are BSN-prepared and currently enrolled in an MSN program are eligible, but the MSN must be completed within five years.
