Clinical RN or LVN

Position Summary

For RN: Functions as a staff nurse under the guidance and supervision of an experienced R.N. Performs routine patient care assignments and carries out established nursing procedures utilizing the nursing process.

For LVN: The LVN scope of practice is a directed scope of practice and requires appropriate supervision. The LVN functions within the parameters of the legal scope of practice and in accordance with federal, state, and local laws, rules, regulations, and the policies, procedures, and guidelines of Medical Center Health System. The LVN is responsible for providing safe, compassionate, and focused nursing care to assigned patients with predictable health needs.

Education

Hold a current Texas permit or license as a Registered Nurse (BSN preferred) or hold a current Texas permit or license as a Licensed Vocational Nurse. BSN preferred.

Training and Experience

• Current BLS Certification through the American Heart Association upon hire or transfer to department.
• Neonate Resuscitation Program (NRP) through the American Heart Association within 6 months of hire or transfer to department.
• STABLE course within 6 months of hire or transfer to department.
