Clinical RN II, Emergency Department, Part-Time, (36 Hour Week), Nights

About the role

The Clinical RN assesses, plans, implements, evaluates, directs, and appropriately delegates to ensure the delivery of safe, quality patient care. This registered professional nurse functions within the full scope of RN licensure, according to the California Nursing Practice Act. Responsibilities include providing assessment, development, and implementation of the care plan, evaluating care effectiveness, directing emergency interventions, and collaborating with physicians, team members, and others to optimally manage patient care while acting as a patient advocate.

Requirements

• Valid California RN license (required at hire)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (required at hire)
• Integrative Agitation Management (IAMTAC) certification (required within 30 days of hire)
• Clinical RN II: either 6 months to 1-year experience as a Clinical RN I at MarinHealth Medical Center, or possession of the clinical experience identified in the appropriate unit-specific job description addendum

Responsibilities

• Formulate a nursing diagnosis through patient observation, behavior interpretation, and information from the client and health team
• Develop age-specific care planning in collaboration with the patient, ensuring safety, comfort, hygiene, disease prevention, and restorative measures
• Perform essential nursing skills, explain treatments to patients and families, and teach care for health needs
• Evaluate care effectiveness through patient observation, behavior, signs and symptoms, and team communication; modify plans as needed
• Act as the patient’s advocate by initiating actions to improve care or change decisions against the patient’s interests, ensuring informed consent
• Demonstrate leadership by supervising, directing, and delegating appropriately to care team members based on legal scopes of practice
• Serve as a clinical expert, role model, and resource for the team, patients, and families; mentor and train less experienced staff
• Demonstrate professional accountability for nursing practice

Pay

Compensation range: $93.17 - $119.18 per hour.
