Clinical Research Professional (Open Rank: Intermediate-Principal)
About the Role
The Department of Ophthalmology at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus is seeking a Clinical Sciences Professional to assist with industry and investigator-initiated clinical research protocols. This role involves working closely with Principal Investigators, research teams, and departmental leadership, primarily focusing on pharmaceutical clinical trials, biobanking, and broad data management studies.
Responsibilities
- Assist PIs with grant submissions, data deadlines, and research abstract submissions.
- Communicate with PIs about new research opportunities and mentor junior team members.
- Analyze data for multiple research studies and present findings to PIs.
- Participate in information gathering for grant applications.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to research coordinators, temporary employees, and student workers.
- Serve as a primary or backup coordinator for assigned studies, performing study-related procedures and ophthalmic assessments.
- Coordinate research collaboration between IRB, university entities, hospitals, and community providers.
- Develop and implement strategies to enhance participant recruitment and enrollment.
- Independently master study materials, protocols, and essential documents.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- Intermediate Professional: Bachelor’s degree in any field + 1 year clinical research experience (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
- Senior Professional: Bachelor’s degree in any field + 2 years clinical research experience (or equivalent combination of education and experience) + experience working with patients.
- Principal Professional: Bachelor’s degree in any field + 3 years clinical research experience (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in science or health-related field, or Certified Ophthalmic Technician.
- Experience with electronic data capture systems, EHRs, Oncore, InfoEd, etc.
- Phlebotomy Certification.
- Experience using REDCap or equivalent for project management.
- Nursing or ophthalmic background.
Skills
- Knowledge of federal regulations and Good Clinical Practice (GCP).

Work Location
Onsite – Sue Anschutz-Rodgers Eye Center, Aurora, CO.

Anticipated Pay Range
- Intermediate Professional: $54,302 - $72,765
- Senior Professional: $58,705 - $78,665
- Principal Professional: $67,511 - $90,465
