Clinical Research Professional I, II or III, Department of Emergency Medicine

About the role

As one of the oldest medical schools in the country, the UC College of Medicine has a reputation for training best-in-class health care professionals and developing cutting-edge procedures and research that improves the health and clinical care of patients. The UC Department of Emergency Medicine is seeking a full-time (100% FTE) Clinical Research Professional to assist in their clinical research. The incumbent will provide support and assistance to the research team in support of clinical research studies. Duties can span a broad range of activities or be primarily focused within one or more areas of the clinical research spectrum. Position level will be determined at time of hire based on applicant’s qualifications and credentials.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate clinical research projects.
• Assist in protocol development and provide input into descriptions of routine research processes.
• If qualified, manage a team of clinical research coordinators who screen and recruit in the emergency department 24/7, with development related to administrative duties including billing and scheduling.
• Serve as a primary contact for clinical centers in multi-center research studies, develop study materials – serving to train imaging sites, assure study protocol compliance, screen, recruit, and obtain informed consents for clinical trials/studies.
• Assist study/trial team with various research related tasks, collect and enter clinical research data required by the sponsors in a timely manner.
• Utilize proprietary software for image analysis and segmentation, collect and maintain regulatory documents from subjects and assist in preparation of required regulatory forms and documentation according to protocol.
• Work rotating schedule that includes day, evening and night shifts, weekends and holidays.
• Perform related duties based on departmental need.

Requirements

CRP I

• One (1) year experience in a related field.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Biology, Health Sciences, or a related field.
• Five (5) years of relevant work experience and/or other specialized training can be used in lieu of education requirement.

CRP II

• Three (3) years of experience in a related field.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Biology, Health Sciences, or a related field.
• Seven (7) years of relevant work experience and/or other specialized training can be used in lieu of education requirement.

CRP III

• Five (5) years of experience in a related field.
• SoCRA/ACRP/RAPS Certification.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Biology, Health Sciences, or a related field.
• Nine (9) years of relevant work experience and/or other specialized training can be used in lieu of education requirement.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree.
• Experience working in an academic research setting.
• Clinical Research Professional Certification.
