Clinical Research Coordinator II - Murtha Cancer Center (MAMC)

HJF is seeking a Clinical Research Coordinator II to perform clinical research and patient treatment in conjunction with one or more specified clinical research protocols at Madigan Army Medical Center in Tacoma, Washington. This position supports the John P. Murtha Cancer Center located at the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland. The Murtha Cancer Center is a modern, patient-centric, tri-service military healthcare facility offering multidisciplinary cancer-care delivery, patient-family support services, and access to cutting-edge diagnostic and treatment technologies. The Henry M. Jackson Foundation for the Advancement of Military Medicine (HJF) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing military medicine, serving military, medical, academic, and government clients.

Responsibilities

• Screens patients for eligibility in participation of research protocol.
• Consents patients and interviews them to collect data on health history and lifestyle practices.
• Performs sample collection, processing, and tracking.
• Prepares samples for shipment, enters required data, and prepares reports as needed.
• Participates in routine (weekly/monthly) update calls with MCC.
• Implements SOPs, research protocols, and policies for all assigned research projects.
• Assists with regulatory submissions and actions.
• Adheres to legal, professional, and ethical codes regarding confidentiality and privacy.
• Ensures protocol requirements are achieved within good clinical practices.
• Assists with monitoring audits/visits for protocols.
• Collects, organizes, and maintains appropriate files of data.
• Maintains status reports on all patients.
• Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned or directed by the supervisor.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience.
• Knowledge of federal and local regulations and policies pertinent to research involving human subjects.
• Experience consenting research subjects.
• Experience processing and shipping samples preferred.
• Experience with IRB submissions preferred.
• Experience in oncology preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal and computer skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively and work with individuals of all levels.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen or Green Card holder due to site security requirements.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a T1/Public Trust Background Check.

Physical Capabilities

• Lifting: Requires lifting materials over 25 lbs.

Work Environment

This position will take place primarily in a clinic setting.

Pay

The annual salary range for this position is $80,168.40–$81,000. Actual salary will be determined based on experience and education.
