Clinical Research Coordinator II (Hybrid) - Neurology
About the role
This position is a member of a multidisciplinary research team and performs duties associated with the coordination and implementation of research studies/projects, data collection, and the management of data generated by study protocols.
Responsibilities
- Implements and manages all phases of study/protocol; ensures compliance with protocol guidelines and requirements of regulatory agencies; establishes record-keeping systems; makes assessments and determinations of participants' progress in the study; analyzes, investigates and reports adverse events; makes decisions as when to notify physicians of issues, when to stop participant inclusion and/or to make and/or recommend adjustment of the protocol of particular participants; resolves protocol management issues and recommends corrective action as appropriate.
- Performs research study procedures including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of participants to generate study data according to established protocol; collects data (e.g., basic health information), assists with a neurological lumbar puncture (spinal tap) and documents as required by protocol; may perform blood draws with phlebotomy training.
- Identifies, screens, and enrolls study participants; serves as the contact person for the research participants; provides study participants, families, and caregivers education about the studies, dementia, and dementia care.
- On a rotating call schedule for brain donation and brain autopsy coordination.
- Collaborates in the preparation of manuscripts for publications and preparation of grant proposals to sponsoring agencies; assists in the preparation of amendments to protocols and/or modifications to study design as appropriate.
- Evaluates and interprets collected clinical data as appropriate; prepares oral or written presentations or reports and analyses setting forth progress trends and provides recommendations or conclusions of the same.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or combination of education and/or experience may substitute for minimum education.
- Basic Life Support certification must be obtained within one month of hire date.
