Job Summary

Following established policies, procedures, and study protocols, provides assistance on clinical research studies, including recruiting, evaluating, and consenting patients for studies; collecting and organizing patient data; scheduling patients for study visits; performing clinical tests such as phlebotomy, EKGs, etc.; and maintaining and updating data generated by the study.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in related field required
  • Experience: Some relevant research project work, 0-1 year preferred

Essential Functions

  • Reviews proposals for compliance with sponsor and organizational guidelines; verifies that all sponsor requirements are met.
  • Recruiting patients for clinical trials and conducting phone interviews.
  • Verifies the accuracy of study forms and updates them per protocol.
  • Prepares data for analysis and data entry.
  • Documents patient visits and procedures.
  • Aids in regulatory binders and QA/QC procedures.
  • Aids in interviewing study subjects.
  • Aids in study regulator submissions.

The Alcohol-Associated Liver Disease (ALD) Program in the Division of Gastroenterology at Massachusetts General Hospital is seeking a full-time Clinical Research Coordinator for NIH-funded clinical trials of behavioral interventions for patients with alcohol use disorder (AUD) and liver disease. Working directly with Dr. Wei Zhang and a multidisciplinary team of hepatologists, addiction specialists, psychologists, social workers, and nurses, the coordinator will be the primary point of contact between the study and its participants — recruiting, consenting, and retaining patients, and managing data collection, regulatory activities, and study operations.
