Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for scheduling volunteers in studies requiring body composition and energy expenditure measurements.
  • Calibrate and operate body composition instruments to measure fat, fat-free mass, and body dimensions in children and adults enrolled in research studies. (Training provided.)
  • Calibrate and operate human chamber calorimeters to measure energy expenditure in study participants. (Training provided.)
  • Schedule participants, maintain calendars, perform quality control checks on data with Laboratory Directors, and send reports to study investigators.
  • Prepare quarterly usage reports for billing and annual NIH reporting.
  • Manage correspondence, generate study materials, and execute administrative tasks in collaboration with study staff.
  • Ensure accurate and high-quality data entry.
  • Aid the PI with required documentation.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in education, training and experience.
  • Flexible, organized, and detail-oriented.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate and present information effectively to management, investigators, and staff.
  • Computer proficiency.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and problem-solve.
  • Ability to perform light physical activity.

Qualifications

  • 1–3 years of related research experience.
  • Experience with data collection and basic data management.
  • Knowledge of human physiology, biology, and/or nutrition.
