Job Summary
The Division of Urology within the Department of Surgery is seeking a professional, well-organized team player to fill the position of Clinical Research Coordinator.
Responsibilities
- Oversee research and administrative procedures
- Ensure compliance with hospital, state, federal and regulatory policies and procedures including patient consent (when applicable)
- Perform data acquisition and entry for prospective urology projects
- Help design, implement and direct research projects
- Screen potential research participants and coordinate patient follow-up for enrolled subjects
- Obtain informed consent/assent from research subjects and/or parents/guardians
- Help to develop and implement research quality control procedures including data collection and data management tools (e.g. case report forms, databases, and data entry and cleaning systems) as well as ensure the accuracy and validity of data entered in databases
- Auxiliary in the creation, editing, and submission of IRB protocols
- Participate in aspects of grant submissions and reporting in consultation with Investigators and clinical trials officers
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a health sciences or related field or equivalent with two years professional research experience and completion of University RATS Clinical Certification within one year of hire required
- Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and demonstrated human relations and effective communication skills also required
- Knowledge of Good Clinical Practices, FDA, HIPAA and IRB regulations; an understanding of research procedures; and the ability to function independently is preferred
